Roger, I love your voice. You ain't no ways no bad writer. Thankee fur all the mighty helpful information.
I am still stunned that I get to go to Chautauqua. I am so happy to be meeting all of you and to have this opportunity to improve my writing.
Roger, I don't cry easily, but I am a bit scared of what my mentor will say about the picture book manuscript that I intend to submit. It's just plain silly (I love silliness) and possibly misguided. Guess I'll just have to "gut up" and take it as Coach Gondo of my high school's football team used to say. Not that I ever played football. But I do have a lot of gutting up experience.
Anyway, I live in Littleton, Colorado, and am hoping to start out my children's writing career with picture books and stories in children's magazines. I also write about library issues (local through international) as the Denver Metro Library Examiner for Examiner.com. At the moment, I'm researching the question of why teenagers are so hooked on vampire lit or what some call "fang fiction." Anyone care to comment?
